Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

IMG_2390 IMG_2365 There has been quite a bit of sewing going on around here. Well, at least a lot of preparation to sew. I am working on a new dress for K using that pretty turquoise dandelion fabric you see in the first photo. I still just can't decide if I like the bee fabric with it or not.

K has been doing her own embroidery project. I am not sure what she is working on exactly but I found her WIP on the table as I set up to cut fabric today and felt the need to share it.

In knitting news. I seem to be at an impasse with my cardigan. I finished the body over the weekend and decided to go ahead and block it before I added the sleeves just to be certain it fit. Well, I did my usual method of blocking which involves getting the knitted item submerged in water. When I tried it on afterwards it grew to almost twice the length it started out as. I believe this is thanks to the garter stitch used for the whole garment. Since my yarn is super wash I put it in the dryer for a few minutes to get it back to the original size. Now I don't know what to do. It's a bit snug unblocked but I don't want it to grow in length. HELP! Any blocking suggestions? Or should I just throw in the towel on this too good to be true cardigan?

What are you working on?! Happy creating!

It's as simple as that. Remember your post can be from any day of the week, it doesn't have to be today.
