Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

KCCO - on the road

Hello everyone! We are here in Mountain Home, Idaho staying in temporary lodging. I have a small handful of pictures to share from our two day adventure later this week. I thought we were in limbo before the move but boy, was I wrong! That was just a small taste of what was in store for us once we arrived here. I am trying my hardest to fight depression right now but I admit I am struggling. Things will look up once our house in Portland sells and we can start looking for a home here. Any house selling prayers or vibes would be greatly appreciated right now.

The sky seems to be endless here and the sunsets are the most beautiful I have ever seen, but it's very cold and windy right now. I thought it best to get back to work on the scarf I am knitting for myself. I do believe some mittens will follow as my fingers went numb catching tumbleweeds outside today. I've had my eye on these ones for awhile now. We all need something fun in our wardrobe, right?

What are you working on?! Happy creating!

If you would like to link up and share your current works in progress (or finished works) please leave your link below. It can now be either to your specific blog post or Flickr photo. There are no rules, only that your link is current and something about a craft project (of any kind) you are working on. Don't forget that there is now a KCCO Flickr group for you to share your crafting photos at anytime.

Please remember to link back here so that others who may want to join KCCO can find us.

It's as simple as that. Remember your post can be from any day of the week, it doesn't have to be today. We all love feedback so if you have a moment please leave a comment on some of the KCCO posts you may visit. I know from my own experience just how much your comments really motivate me! Now please share and inspire us all!

good morning. We are going through the same house hunt/moving limbo with two little boys and a baby girl due in the spring. I know things seem tough BUT I wanted to let you know that each morning I look forward to reading your blog posts and searching through your archives for some rays of sunshine. Isn't it funny how even in our darkest moments we are still an inspiration to others. I wanted you to know that you and your dedication to your family are an infinite source of inspiration to me. Thank you.

Oh Sondra, I can not even begin to thank you for sharing this with me. It means so very much!! I feel like the farthest thing from an inspiration right now and too doom and gloom. Thank you for helping me to see otherwise.
I am so sorry you are in limbo right now, too :( It isn't a fun state to be in. Please let me know if there is anything I could do to help you out! Congrats on your pregnancy!!! XO
Cyber-hugs to your whole family. Move limbo is so hard! Definitely keeping you in prayer for the house sale and finding a lovely new home.

I have a friend whose husband retired earlier this year - they are in Mountain Home now as well. They are a homeschooling family and she's a big "yarnie". Shoot me a message on Ravelry if you'd like me to introduce the two of you. If this is your first time being stationed there, I'm sure she can give you some ideas of fun things to check out to keep your spirits up. (They were stationed there before their last duty station.) Don't hesitate to PM me, okay? We milspouses have to stick together when the depression is circling around!

Thank you Melonie! Cyber hugs right back at ya! I would love your friend's info.
PS LOVE the shark mittens - too fun! An online friend did some socks like these for Shark Week for her little boy - so awesome. :D
That scarf looks beautiful. Praying for you to find some joy in the struggle.
Love, Tonya
You never cease to amaze me with your clever knitting!! Not to mention knitting with three littles! I've just started feeling like I might almost be able to call myself a knitter, now that I've finished three baby cardigans but I did wait till my children were all a little older before starting!!
All the best for your move - you are an amazingly great mum and your children will be happy simply because you remain happy xx

Thank you, Evi! You ARE a knitter!!!!
Your scarf looks so lovely!!! I am praying for you all to find the right place for you and the animals in the interm. hugs hugs hugs!
I am sorry to read that you are struggling with your depression. It is never an easy thing to move and to be in temporary housing. Keep in the moment. You have many blessings and it can be easy to look at circumstances and take our eyes off our blessings. I know these feelings will pass. Be encouraged that your readers love to be here and say a prayer for you.

Have a beautiful evening!

Thank you, Janet. Your words mean so much!!
Beautiful lace!
Those shark mittens are great. It looks like they would go quickly too. Moving with the family and being somewhere other than where you want to be is not easy - particularly when you are a parent who has invested a great deal in developing predictable rhythms centered around the home and during this busy season - uffda! as we say in the north woods... I have been listening to Buddhism for Mothers (the audiobook). It's meant to be a secular interpretation of the philosophy. The author is candid and kind, offering words of wisdom but also support for tough times. I found it really helpful. Peaceful thoughts coming your way. Take good care.
